For nearly two years, I’ve hosted #JavanDoesBatonRouge right here on my website. But now as a broadcaster, it only made sense to bring the blog to video, something I’ll call a “community broadcast.” Same theme, same purpose, #JDBR remains my own little way of exploring my home of ten years–a booming city I long overlooked. I have an endless list of places to feature–some stores, some restaurants…some well-known, some not-so-much. For this first broadcast, we go the The Roux House for Red Beans & Rice Mondays with The Michael Foster Project.

#RBRM runs from 6 – 9pm every Monday, with a rotation of chefs serving a buffet of the Louisiana tradition. Sometimes, Michael Foster even cooks them himself! The Roux House is located at 143 3rd Street, right next to the Manship Theater/Shaw Center in Downtown Baton Rouge. Just look for the mural; you can’t miss it.
